WDSGlobal announce strategic organisational restructure to focus on global expansion19th February 2001 WDSGlobal have announced a new Chief Operating Officer for Europe. Håkan Cronqvist has taken over the running of the European operations from the beginning of 2001. Håkan comes from 9 years of global business experience before joining WDSGlobal and worked through support, account management and sales management before accepting this new position. David Ffoulkes-Jones, WDSGlobal managing director commented I believe that the future growth of WDSGlobal in Europe will be in the expansion of our services to the mainland with both physical and virtual locations. Håkans experience of these markets combined with his knowledge of the complete range of WDS services makes him the right choice to take this next step with. Håkan Cronqvist was quoted saying the he felt the combined services of support, training, testing and development coupled with the new web based products coming to market like mouse2mobile.com makes this a really great time to be involved with WDSGlobal. He went on to say how pleased he was with the post and looked forward to exceeding market expectations in the coming year. One of Mr Cronqvists first appointments was new Business Development Manager for Europe. Richard Featherstone has prior experience in running and starting sales outlets and distribution channels throughout Europe and the Middle and Far East. Richard joined the company at the beginning of February. During the organisational change John Ainsworth has taken up the opportunity to run the European department for Testing and Development services. I look forward to the year ahead and helping this new department make a positive impression on the wireless data market John Ainsworth said. This new department is a key move for WDSGlobal as it allows the business to combine all services as they have recently shown in the award winning Glasss Guide WAP service. This provided an end to end solution involving consulting, training, development, internet service provision, hosting, over the air activation and support. The training department will continue to be run by Mark Arnold who has a successful year in expanding operations to Europe. WDSGlobal now have the ability to deliver training in French, Spanish, Belgian, German, Dutch and English. Syed Agil has been appointed the COO for the Asia Pac market releasing Luke van Kempen to concentrate on developing the Asia Pac market with initial focus on Singapore. Syeds has experience at senior positions in the Asia Pac market and will therefore offer WDSGlobal a knowledge base that will be very important when it comes to setting up offices and taking operational control. Lukes title will now be Business Development Director and although his main focus will be in the new market space he will also act as the link between WDSGlobal and the region. Mr Ffoulkes-Jones said there would be more senior positions being announced during the course of the year as the business evolved to meet the new structure.
