22nd November 2000
WDSGlobal is a finalist in the Dorset Business Link Awards for 2000.
World leader in Technical Helpdesk services, Wireless Application Development, Consultancy and Technology Training to the Wireless Data market, Wireless Data Services (WDSGlobal) has further strengthened its global business during 2000 and as a result has created 30 new jobs.
This year alone just some of the highlights include becoming a global partner for Ericsson, the largest outsourced trainer for Nokia worldwide, performing testing for Casio across Europe and Australia - and revenue has grown across all international markets with projected turnover expected to be around £3.1m. This builds on an already very strong client list with well-known names such as Motorola, Samsung, Philips and Psion.
Established in 1995 and based in Poole, the company was originally set up to provide Technical Helpdesk services to mobile network operators and manufacturers. This still accounts for 60% of the companys turnover, but WDSGlobal has also successfully diversified as further opportunities have led to it providing training, testing and benchmarking, and Wireless Application consultancy and development.
WDSGlobal's aims for 2001 is to maximise opportunities presented to the company as a result of the increased convergence of technology, along with the migration of European technology to other worldwide arenas. In order to achieve this, WDSGlobal are planning on setting up more European offices and expansion into Asia Pacific and North American markets.
